SDGs

CloudEARTHi contributes to four of the Sustainable Development Goals. These four goals are SD4 – quality education, SD13 – climate action, SD9 – industry, innovation and infrastructure and SD5 – gender equality.

Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education

Sustainable Development Goal 4 aims at ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all. This goal ensures that all girls and boys complete free primary and secondary schooling by 2030. It also aims to provide equal access to affordable vocational training, to eliminate gender and wealth disparities and achieve universal access to a quality higher education.

Towards this goal, the CloudEARTHi builds capacity in higher education, develops new teaching materials, and runs new educational programs.

Sustainable Development Goal 13: Climate Action

Climate change is a real and undeniable threat to our entire civilization. The effects are already visible and will be catastrophic unless we act now. Through education, innovation and adherence to our climate commitments, we can make the necessary changes to protect the planet. These changes also provide huge opportunities to modernize our infrastructure which will create new jobs and promote greater prosperity across the globe.

The core mission of the CloudEARTHi is toward the climate action goal. All the developed courses, and teaching programs of the CloudEARTHi have objectives that contribute to the climate action goal.

Sustainable Development Goal 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure

Sustainable Development Goal 9 (Goal 9 or SDG 9) is about “industry, innovation and infrastructure” and is one of the 17 Sustainable Developmental Goals adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 2015. SDG 9 aims to build resilient infrastructure, promote sustainable industrialization and foster innovation.

CloudEARTHi aims at integrating innovation and business skills into academic courses and programs.

Sustainable Development Goal 5: Gender Equality

SDG 5 aims to achieve gender equality by ending all forms of discrimination, violence and any harmful practices against women and girls in the public and private spheres. It also calls for the full participation of women and equal opportunities for leadership at all levels of political and economic decision-making.

CloudEARTHi extends this concept and includes under-representative groups, people with disabilities. The project aims to achieve equality between genders in our courses and programs.
